ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

Position Title:
Electrical Field Technician

Location:
Matthews, NC - Travel to Job sites required, some overnight travel

Reports to:
Team Lead

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrical helper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components to ensure the safety and functionality of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of basic electrical systems, including wiring, conduits, outlets, lighting and equipment.
  • Support senior technicians with troubleshooting and routine maintenance tasks.
Safety and Compliance
  • Follow established safety procedures and electrical codes under supervision to help maintain a safe work environment.
  • Participate in inspections and testing of electrical systems to support compliance with applicable standards.
Planning and Upgrades
  • Assist in preparing and carrying out electrical upgrades or new installations according to project instruction
Recordkeeping and Communication
  • Help maintain accurate records of work performed, including installations, repairs, and inspections.
  • Communicate work status, questions, and observations clearly with supervisors and team members.
 Qualifications:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and work under the supervision of experienced electricians or technicians.
  • Have basic hand tools.
  • Reliable transportation
  • For those new to the industry, participation in the GC IEC apprenticeship program is required.  
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying heavy equipment 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work from ladders or lifts.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel for work.

  • Competitive pay structure with the opportunity of pay increases upon attaining milestones, totaling up to $5.00 per hour within the first year.
